Share Market News Today | Sensex, Nifty, Share Prices LIVE: Domestic equity market benchmarks BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 were trading with gains in the afternoon session on Thursday. Sensex was up 300 points or 0.89 per cent at 33,805, while the broader Nifty 50 index was ruling above 9,950. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 20 were trading in positive territory. Bajaj Finance was the top Sensex gainer with a growth of 3.5 per cent followed by Powe Grid, NTPC, ITC, Tata Steel and HDFC. On the other hand, ONGC was the top Sensex loser. Among other losers were Maruti Suzuki, Nestle India, Bajaj-Auto and HUL. The trend among the sectoral indices was positive as all the 11 indices were trading in green. Nifty Metal index advanced over 2 per cent led by gains in Hindustan Copper, Coal India, Vedanta and Hindustan Zinc.
Today, PM Narendra Modi launched the auction process of 41 coal mines for commercial mining. PM Modi said that commercial coal block auction is a win-win situation for industry users as new resources will open up, states will earn more revenue, generating more job opportunities.
