Share Market News Today | Sensex, Nifty, Share Prices LIVE: Domestic equity market benchmarks BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 were trading weak on Thursday following weak global cues. BSE Sensex was trading 190 points or 0.47 per cent down at 40,518, while the Nifty 50 was ruling weak at 11,900, down 32 points. Vedanta share price rose 3.65 per cent after the company said its board of directors is scheduled to meet on October 24 to consider and approve first interim dividend for FY21. The record date for the same is fixed as October 31. Among top Sensex losers were ICICI Bank, Asian Paints, Power Grid Corporation of India, Reliance Industries and Nestle India. On the flip side, Bajaj Finsv, Bajaj Finance, Bharti Airtel, HUL, Axis Bank were top Sensex gainers. Barring Nifty Media index, all the sectoral indices were trading in the red. Nifty Pharma and Nifty Bank indices were top sectoral laggards.
The International Monetary Fund slashed this year’s economic forecast for Asia, reflecting a sharper-than-expected contraction in countries like India, a sign the coronavirus pandemic continues to take a heavy toll on the region. While the IMF upgraded next year’s growth forecast, it warned the recovery will be sluggish and patchy with countries dependent on tourism seen taking a particularly hard hit, according to Reuters.
