Share Market News Today | Sensex, Nifty, Share Prices LIVE: Domestic equity market benchmarks BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 were trading at seven-month highs on Thursday. BSE Sensex was trading over 500 points higher at 40,417, while the broader Nifty 50 index jumped 145 points or 1.23 per cent to rule at 11,883. Tata Consultancy Services was top Sensex gainer, up over 5 per cent to hit a fresh 52-week high after the company’s second-quarter results beat the Street estimates. TCS board cleared a buyback plan to up to Rs 16,000 crore. IT stocks were leading the Sensex gainers today with HCL Tech, Infosys, Tech Mahindra at fresh 52-week highs. Among other Sensex gainers were HDFC Bank, UltraTech Cement, Bharti Airtel, SBI, Sun Pharma, Tata Steel and HUL. On the flip side, ONGC was top Sensex laggard, followed Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), Asian Paints, ITC, Bajaj Auto, Power Grid Corporation of India and Titan Company.

Tata Consultancy Services on Wednesday reported a 4.9 per cent rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 8,433 crore for the September 2020 quarter. Revenues during the quarter rose by 4.7% to Rs 40,135 crore, its best in 20 quarters. The company also announced a share buyback of Rs 16,000 crore at a price of Rs 3,000 per share. CEO and managing director Rajesh Gopinathan said the company will be giving salary hikes for the second half of the year and will be effective October 1.
