Share Market News Today | Sensex, Nifty, Share Prices LIVE: Domestic equity market benchmarks, BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 were trading higher on the first day of the week, taking cues from their Asian peers. BSE Sensex was hovering around 40,300, with a gain of nearly a per cent, while the broader Nifty 50 index reclaimed the crucial 11,850 in the trade today. HDFC Bank shares were trading firm at Rs 1,209 apiece on BSE, after it reported 18.4 per cent on-year growth in net profit in the July-September quarter at Rs 7,513 crore. Shares of DLF Ltd also gained over 3 per cent after it’s rental arm DCCDL raised Rs 2,400 crore debt from India’s largest lender SBI to refinance its existing debt and fund future expansion plans, PTI quoted a senior company official as saying. Besides, ONGC was the top Sensex gainer, up nearly 4 per cent, followed by HDFC, Axis Bank, NTPC, ICICI Bank, SBI, RIL, HCL Tech. On the contrary, TCS (Tata Consultancy Services) was the top Sensex loser. Tech Mahindra, Sun Pharma and Infosys were among other Sensex laggards.

HDFC Bank on Saturday reported an 18.4 per cent on-year growth in net profit for the quarter ended September at Rs 7,513 crore on the back of a 16.77 per cent on-year rise in net interest income (NII) to Rs 15,776 crore, with non-interest income growing 9 per cent on-year.
