Share Market News Today | Sensex, Nifty, Share Prices LIVE: Domestic equity market benchmarks BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 trimmed gains but managed to stay in the green. The 30-share index Sensex was up 20 points at 38,328, while the broader Nifty 50 index was ruling at 11,318. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 23 crips were trading in the positive territory. Tata Steel was the top Sensex gainer, up 3 per cent, followed by Sun Pharma, Reliance Industries, TCS, Infosys, Housing Development Finance Corporation, ICICI Bank and NTPC. On the other hand, Power Grid, HCL Tech, Maruti Suzuki, Bajaj-Auto, Tata Steel and Titan Company were the top index laggards. The trend among the sectoral indices was positive, with Nifty Media and Nifty Metal gaining the most. Nifty IT index was also up 0.58 per cent.

Earlier this week, the Supreme Court adjourned the hearing on telecom companies under insolvency to August 14. The apex court questioned the government’s stance on the matter. A bench led by Justices Arun Mishra told solicitor-general Tushar Mehta that he should come prepared on Friday with a plan for recovery of dues from the companies under insolvency. And whether spectrum can be sold by these telecom companies.
